L’eau D’Issey is a masculine floral fragrance, which may be the first floral I’ve reviewed. The design of the bottle and box are very minimalist. However the juice inside is anything but. This is a very well, and almost under rated mens cologne. Until I really got into fragrance I’ve honestly never heard of it. It doesn’t come from a big design house, and doesn’t have tons of advertising to back it. It’s been out since 1994, which shows it has stood the test of time. It’s also very popular within the cologne community, and rightfully so. I will say you need to give this one more then a single testing. It opens with a citrus/floral opening that some aren’t fond of. I personally enjoy it, but have experienced better. It really starts to take off in the drydown. A very well made floral evolves leaving a fresh and masculine aroma.
L’eau D’Issey not only smells great, it does well in all the other important factors. This one really projects well for being a light cologne. It really grabs the compliments, and in my testing received a lot of compliments without searching for them. Longevity is also a plus with this one, again, not normal for a light cologne. It easily lasts 8 hours on my skin, and I’ve seen reports of it lasting a lot longer. L’eau D’Issey is the perfect fragrance for the warm weather. It’s not overpowering and probably wouldn’t work to well in the winter. However it really does an amazing job in the heat of late spring/summer. It is also very versatile and can be worn to both work and an evening out on the town.
