Top 5 Colognes for Work in Office

Top 5 Colognes for Work in Office

I’ve been asked a few times on what’s a good cologne to wear to work. My criteria for this list was rather simple. It had to be something I enjoy, rather versatile, and non offensive. This isn’t the place to sport your new purchase of A*Men Pure Malt or Le Male. Without further ado here are my Top 5 Colognes for the office.

Number 5 Office Cologne

Acqua Di Gio by Giorgio Armani

Some hate this cologne just because of it’s success and popularity. However there is a reason that it’s popular and that is because it’s a very well made fragrance. Is it groundbreaking? No, not at all. You don’t want groundbreaking for the office though. Acqua Di Gio is a well rounded inoffensive fragrance that has a great drydown and excellent longevity. Outside the risk of smelling like half the office this is a great cologne to wear throughout the day.

Number 4 Office Cologne

Chanel Platinum Egoiste

Chanel Platinum Egoiste is a step away from the powerhouse days of Chanel. For this it receives some flak, however it makes it perfect for this list. Plain and simple, you wear this, you smell like the guy in the room that knows how to dress, the guy that knows the game, the gentleman that has it together. With decent projection for the office setting, and excellent longevity this makes it perfect to wear around the office. This isn’t as popular as Acqua Di Gio so your chances of smelling like someone else at work is slim.

Number 3 Office Cologne

Pour Homme Soir by Bvlgari

This one is very inoffensive and stays close to the skin. This cologne contains a very sophisticated and appealing scent. Right out of the bottle, I get the smell of citrus, some spices, and that Bvlgari signature of tea. Throughout the drydown the scent stays close however provides good longevity. You’re not going to turn heads in the office when you walk in, which is a good thing. However when up close you will exude class and sophistication.

Number 2 Office Cologne

Polo Blue by Ralph Lauren

Polo Blue by Ralph Lauren is a flanker of the famous Polo in the green bottle. There is a hint of moss which is a signature of the Polo line. However as the name suggests this is their “blue” take on it adding aquatic notes. There is a very nice melon note throughout this fragrance, which for me is rather different. Polo Blue has decent projection throughout it’s life, while not loud, it is noticeable the first few hours. During the drydown it wears closer to the skin. This is another great non offensive fragrance with the different note of melon.

Number 1 Office Cologne

Green Irish Tweed by Creed

The king of fragrances to some, Green Irish Tweed is the perfect fragrance for the office. Those wearing this cologne appear sophisticated and classy as well as masculine. This one appeals to the masses, and is the reason it has so often been copied and duplicated. However there is just nothing like the original when it comes to Green Irish Tweed. This fragrance is perfect for the office with moderate projection and ample longevity. It wears well in any season and will also adapt to any situation outside of the office. You are almost guaranteed to get compliments with this one, and sure to look the part of a professional on the way up.
