The bottle for Bvlgari Aqua is very unique and is something you won’t find in any other house. It comes with a very nice sprayer on a large round and flat fragrance. It lays down and reminds you almost of a blue glass hockey puck. The bottle and box are very detailed and well built and designed by Bvlgari. There are two bottle sizes and range in price from $50-$80 depending on the size.

Bvlgari Aqua Cologne Smell

The inspiration for this fragrance is deep water, and it hits this perfectly. The start is almost a melon/cucumber note, very similar to Polo Blue. It is very fresh and crisp and also has a mandarin orange citrus note. The drydown then occurs and takes a turn from the normal aquatic. There is a salty note that almost reminds you of seaweed. There is also a small hint of spiciness, again very unique for a aquatic fragrance.

Bvlgari Aqua Cologne Usage

With this one I go with two sprays to the chest and neck. This works well of course in the Spring and Summer as almost every aquatic does. There is however the slight spiciness to this fragrance that could make this a signature scent and be worn year round. I personally stick to wearing this one in the warmer months. The salty note in the drydown is original and makes this one better for the college and above crowd. It could be worn in high school but there a better fragrances like Chrome or Cool Water for that age group. This can be worn during the day or a night out in the summer.

Bvlgari Aqua = Buy 

This is an original fragrance that is unique and very well made. You can’t go wrong with buying this one as long as you’re prepared for the salty deep sea feel of this cologne.

The Bond No. 9 fragrance house put Wall Street in the similar star shaped bottle. The bottle comes wrapped in black with small emblems all over the bottle. The emblems are in gold and give the bottle a rather unique look. The cap is again plastic and is black to match the rest of the bottle. The box, similar to the rest of the line is rather large when compared to other mens cologne boxes. It features an ornately decorated lid that when lifted displays a foam cutout with the bottle sitting in the middle. Bond No. 9 Wall Street comes in two bottle sizes, 1.7 oz and 3.4oz and range in price from $175 to $230. You can find this cologne cheaper at a few discount fragrance shops but their stock of the niche colognes vary.

Bond No 9 Wall Street Cologne Review

This is another unisex fragrance from the Bond No. 9 house and is an aquatic fresh men’s cologne. The initial spray gives you an aquatic note and includes a cucumber note and a seaweed feel. It is very fresh and refreshing on the initial spray. Once it begins to dry down the cucumber note fades into the back and a bit of musk starts to show up. The main point of the mids is the seaweed note with the other notes fading to the back. The drydown totally depends on your skin and varies a lot. For me personally the seaweed note is rather refreshing and gives a nice feel to it. The base notes that come at the end are musk and similar to Creed an ambergris note. This is a nice fresh marine type fragrance. A similar fragrance is Bulgari Aqua with less salt and the addition of a cucumber note.

Bond No. 9 Wall Street Usage

Wall Street can be worn by any age group as is the case with many aquatic/fresh fragrances. A high school student could easily wear this (minus the entry price) all the way up to a older man sitting in a board room. This fragrance is best worn in the Spring and Summer months as it does not have the power to last in the colder months. That being said projection in warm weather is pretty good with it projecting for several hours. Overall longevity is good with it last 8+ hours, which is excellent for an aquatic/fresh fragrance. This can be worn day or night but I find myself wearing it mostly during the day. It can be worn casually or with more classic attire and can fit either situation well.

Should I buy Bond No. 9 Wall Street?

For those that enjoy fresh/aquatic fragrances they should defiantly give Wall Street a try. There are other fragrances that are similar in nature such as Bulgari Aqua and Polo Blue. This is a very well made and blended fragrance and defiantly deserves a spot in your collection. If you’re a fan of aquatic fragrances and looking for a signature scent then this would be a easy buy for the warmer months. You may wish to consider a different fragrance for the real cold months. Bond No 9 Wall Street = Try

The Ralph Lauren Polo Blue bottle is similar to many of their other men’s cologne bottles. It is produced from a heavy glass and comes with a plastic chrome lid. The glass is a deep blue color and you’re able to the liquid inside. On the exterior of the bottle is the Polo Player decal that is also in chrome. The bottle has a nice feel to it and the sprayer is adequate. Overall the bottle is nothing original but decent and nothing gimmicky. There are several different bottle sizes and price range of $30-$70 depending on size and can be purchased cheaper with a cologne coupon.

Polo Blue Mens Cologne Review

Polo Blue is a very natural fresh feeling mens cologne that I personally enjoy. This isn’t a normal aquatic of citrus fresh fragrance as you’d expect. Also, if you’re familiar with the Original Polo Green there is nothing similar between the two. Polo Blue starts slightly sweet which quickly fades into a nice melon, cucumber, basil mix. This comes off well blended and non offensive. There is a slight mossy note, similar to a lot of Polo colognes, along with the basil gives you a green feel. The melon and cucumber note is really what stands out however and the focal point of the entire fragrance. This isn’t a complex fragrance or anything groundbreaking. However as stated it is well blended, good quality, and does a good job, even in extreme heat of summer.

Polo Blue Cologne Usage

This cologne isn’t a projection monster and is not overly loud. It generally stays close to the skin, even at its initial application. This makes Polo Blue perfect for a office of school setting as you won’t be offending anyone around you. It can really be worn year round if so desired, and can work in any setting. I personally find myself using it the most in the Spring and Summer seasons. This is one fragrance that you can wear even in the extreme heat of the summer without regretting it an hour into the wearing. Longevity for this mens cologne is also great for me, getting 8+ hours of wear out of it. Again, this isn’t projecting to fill a room and is more of a skin scent, that being said it stays there for the entire day. When applying I usually go with 4 total sprays with 2 sprays to the chest and 2 to the neck. If wearing in the Fall or Winter I may throw in one more spray, but like I said I usually use this in the warmer months. Polo Blue is surprisingly a compliment getter for me, which I didn’t expect. Polo Blue = Buy

The Pure Shot bottle is similar to the rest of the Thierry Mugler mens cologne line. It comes in the similar plastic flask with the glass star in the middle. Pure Shot comes with a white flask and a deep blue liquid. It projects an image of freshness and overall is one of the best looking bottles from Thierry Mugler. The sprayer issues that are found in all the Mugler bottles is still here, but on my bottle doesn’t seem as bad as others. I’m not sure if they made a internal design change or I just was lucky.

Thierry Mugler Pure Shot Mens Cologne Review

If you are familiar with any of the other Thierry Mugler fragrances like Pure Malt or Pure Havane then you’re in for a surprise here. Pure Shot was created to be a warm weather fragrance, a big departure from his previous editions. There is no A*Men DNA in this one and is in no way a gourmand fragrance. There has been a lot of reviews of Pure Shot as it was recently released and almost all of them have been negative. Personally, I feel like it is getting a negative review for not being what they wanted/thought it would be as opposed to actually looking at the fragrance on its own merits. Pure Shot opens with a burst of fresh and off the bat tells you this is going to be different. This isn’t a heavy citrus blast nor is it a blast of aqua. Its more of a sweet mint that is very refreshing. After an hour or so you get a bit of the juniper berry which bring a slight floral note mixed with the patchouli base. This is a rather linear fragrance and only projects for an hour or two.

Pure Shot Cologne Uses

The biggest complaint I have with Pure Shot is it’s longevity and projection. If you have read any of my previous reviews you will notice that cologne’s projection and longevity are just as important as the smell. With Pure Shot I am averaging four to five hours of projection before it is totally gone. The first two hours the fragrance is projecting rather well, but after that it becomes very close to the skin. This cologne isn’t going to be something you’re going to want to wear to a formal event or on a date. It is best used as a daily wear cologne in the summer or possibly the spring. I think the hotter the temperature the better, as it will help this cologne project. The coolness of the mint will work wonderfully in the hot weather. I think any age can wear this cologne and be happy with it as it is not specifically geared towards the younger or older crowd.

If you’re looking for a fresh cologne that will work extremely well in hot and humid weather then this is a cologne I’d highly recommend. If you want something that is similar to the other Thierry Mugler colognes then please take warning before purchasing. Because of the longevity issues compared to the $90 price tag I have to give

Pure Shot = Try

B*Men by Thierry Mugler comes in the same style bottle as the rest of the A*Men line such as Pure Shot and Pure Malt. This gives an overall very nice presentation with the rubber flask surrounding the red glass star inside. This bottle suffers from the same issues as the rest of this line with an ineffective sprayer. The flask is refillable which is a nice option that is similar to A*Men. It comes in two bottle sizes of 1.7 and 3.4ozs and range in price from $20-$50. This fragrance was discontinued from Thierry Mugler but it still can be found at many of the discount cologne retailers.

BMen by Thierry Mugler Mens Cologne Review

This fragrance opens with a rhubarb note which is rather unique and pleasing. If you’re not a fan of rhubarb then please avoid this fragrance. The top notes stay around for awhile, much longer then normal. The drydown comes and is a sweet and powdery with a patchouli note. This is similar to A*Men but without the chocolate and mint feel to it. This is a very warming fragrance and lasts throughout the day. Longevity, like with other Thierry Mugler colognes, is very good and for me it lasts 8-10+ hours.

B*men by Thierry Mugler Men’s Cologne Usage

BMen is a more mature fragrance and I personally suggest this to the 25+ older crowd. The rhubarb note is a love or hate note and for me projects a mature feel. Projection for this mens fragrance is similar to Pure Malt and A*men and one or two sprays is all you will need. With the warming feel to it this is best worn in the Winter months, and potentially the Fall. This should defiantly be avoided with any real amount of heat as it will easily become cloying. This isn’t a fragrance you’re going to wear to go out and meet women. However it would be perfect in an intimate setting where you’re already comfortable with a person. This cologne also works perfectly in the colder months if you’re going to be spending most of the day outside.

Should I buy B*Men Mens Cologne?

If you’re older then 25 and looking for a very nicely made fragrance for the winter then this is an easy buy. Especially with the price that this mens cologne can be found for you can’t go wrong. This fragrance is easily worth the low entry point and something you’ll find yourself being very happy with over time. Again the rhubarb note is a love or hate situation so please be aware of that when deciding. B*Men is an original scent that you won’t find used a lot and will get you noticed as being masculine and different.

B*Men = Buy

The L’homme Libre mens cologne bottle is very similar to the rest of the L’homme flankers by Yves Saint Laurent. It is a very nice heavy glass with a dark type frosty near the bottom very similar to La Nuit De L’homme. The cap however is clear instead of black like on the La Nuit version. The cap is again plastic, and really I prefer the dark lid as opposed to the clear. The other difference is the stem to the sprayer which is a vibrant blue which brings some color to the bottle. It really pops and matches the color of the box.

L’homme Libre Cologne Review

L’Homme Libre opens with a bergamot note that quickly fades. The middle then quickly appears with the pink pepper and the violet leaf taking the lead for the rest of the life. The pink pepper is not as spicy as a black pepper like in Bang by Marc Jacobs. The base is filled with vetiver and patchouli with the patchouli being more noticable then the vetiver. This is a very fresh fragrance and like many fresh fragrance they all start to run together. This is a well made and well blended fragrance, but there isn’t anything here that is setting apart from the rest of the pack. If you’re a big fan of fresh fragrances then this is defiantly something you’re going to want to check out, because again this is a well blended cologne.

L’homme Libre Mens Cologne Uses

L’homme Libre can be worn to any occasion and do just fine. It isn’t anything drastic and because of that will fit in anywhere. That being said I find this fragrance best used at casual events throughout the year. This men’s cologne does project rather well in the beginning and has some staying power. Overall longevity is usually 7+ hours which is rather good for a fresh fragrance. If you’re a cologne collector you can probably let this one slip from your grasp and not be missing anything. Chances are good that you already have one or several colognes that do something similar to L’homme Libre. That being said if you’re someone who has one or two bottles of cologne then this is a perfect buy. This can be worn in Fall, Spring, Summer, and Winter and again at any occasion. This isn’t as big of a compliment getter as La Nuit De L’homme, but it still does rather well in the category.

L’homme Libre Mens Cologne = Try

He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood Cologne by Dsquared2 comes in two bottle sizes, the common 1.7 and 3.4oz. Retail price for these range from $60-$90, but can be found cheaper with a cologne coupon. The bottle is rather unique and well made. It features an exterior square which looks like a wood finish. Then inside the square there is a nice thick glass bottle with the juice visible. It appears that it is almost two bottles but in actuality they are secure and everything fits well.

Rocky Mountain Wood Cologne Review

This is marketed obviously as a woody fragrance, but there is also a floral note in there as well. Rocky Mountain Wood is a darker fragrance and also has some spicy white pepper in there as well. The cologne opens up very musky with a hint of amber and lots of incense. The floral note comes in during the drydown but again is on top of a dark cedar woody base. The base of the fragrance that you are left with at the end is more dark vetiver with a hint of the spice. This one has a lot more wood when you compare it to the original He Wood mens cologne by Dsquared2. The fragrance is rather linear and there isn’t a ton of change from the opening throughout until the base. The accords are blended well and the pepper, spice, and woods fit very well together.

Rocky Mountain Wood Cologne Uses

This isn’t a sweet fragrance that you’re going to want to for compliments from women. This also isn’t good for a dressy event and is best served as a casual cologne. Rocky Mountain Wood is the perfect fragrance for a day in the woods, on a hike, or any activity really that is outside. Perfect for the Spring and Fall, and could be used in the Winter as well. This is way to dark for any type of warm weather so should be avoided in the summer heat. There are much better more tropical geared fragrances for that type of weather. If you are a person that spends a lot of time outside then this is a perfect cologne for you. For applying I go with 2 sprays to the chest and one to each arm. Longevity for this fragrance is very good and personally I am very satisfied with it. A fragrance that is similar is Terre D’Hermes without the citrus note and with floral to replace it. Overall this is a very well made fragrance and accomplishes its goal very well.

Rocky Mountain Wood Men’s Cologne = BUY

The Bond No. 9 niche fragrance house like other houses continue to use the same bottle design for there releases. The Fire Island bottle is done in a bright orange/yellow body with a clear blue plastic lid. In the middle you find a sticker with Bond No. 9 and Fire Island written around the initials NYC. This bottle does portray what the fragrance is about, which is summer. There bottles are fairly well constructed and have never had an issue with any of the bottles or sprayers. The box, like other Bond No. 9 mens colognes, is ornate and very large. Upon opening it you will find a foam cover and then cardboard and a cut out for your bottle. Overall it is a nice presentation, which is something you expect when paying this price for a cologne.

Bond No. 9 Fire Island Cologne Smell

This is a unisex fragrance and it is an EDP, which means a higher concentrated fragrance. There is floral in this fragrance, which you should be aware of for buying as a man’s fragrance. This cologne was designed to smell like sunscreen and summer. The opening of this cologne starts with the ozone note and gives an idea of a beach with a touch of floral. In the mid the floral comes out more and overall comes off smelling like a high end sun screen. There is a slight sweetness and spice to it, which makes it slightly different then sunscreen. This doesn’t come off as a tropical beach like many fragrances like Creed Virgin Island Water.

Bond No. 9 Fire Island Fragrance Use

For this cologne I got with one on the neck, one on the chest, and one on each arm. I’ve found that this is the best way to apply, and that with this application the longevity is excellent. This is a casual use only fragrance and won’t do well in a classy arena. It reminds you of suntan lotion and because of that it really only works in the summer. You could wear this in another season if you wanted to be reminded of summer or the beach, but that’s about it. You’re probably going to wear this when going to the mall, golfing, or other activities in the summer. This fragrance does best for the college age men and above. This isn’t a huge compliment getter and is very limited for its application. With the limited versatility and the niche price this fragrance is:

Bond No. 9 Fire Island = Pass

The Acqua Di Gio bottle is nicely done frosted glas bottle with the name printed. There are a TON of sizes for this one due to it being the flagship of Armani. Price range is from $50 and up, and it does go up.

Acqua Di Gio Cologne Smell

This is one of the first aquatic fragrances to ever hit the market back in the 1990s. The opening is a splash of refreshing citrus, but not in your face. This is more of a relaxing splash of freshness. The drydown quickly comes and shows off a floral/fruity notes. There is a small note of salt which gives you a marine type feel. The salt not isn’t nearly as strong as Nautica Voyage or Bulgari Aqua. The floral isn’t really strong and doesn’t come off feminine in my opinion. The base comes in with a nice woody note that finishes it out very well.

Acqua Di Gio Usage

This is a mens cologne that you’re not going to want to wear on a first date. Not because it won’t get you complimented, but because it is so common. The popularity of this fragrance is extreme, and because of that it loses any “wow” factor or originality points. Also since its one of the mostly used fragrances you want to make sure a female doesn’t have a negative association (read horrible ex) with this cologne. This can easily be worn as a signature scent and in almost any occasion. I personally stick to this in the spring and summer as I do with most aquatics. If you don’t have a deep collection however this is something you can go to daily. The popularity of this fragrance is really the only thing holding it back. For application, I go with two sprays to the chest and two to the neck for a total of four sprays. This projects fairly well and again will get you complimented. The longevity is also fairly good, but not great as to be expected with any aquatic fragrance.

If you’re looking to buy a fragrance to use on a daily basis, or just want something that is very well done then ADG is a great buy. This cologne is popular for a reason, and it continues to be a top seller for over ten years. Again just be mindful of its popularity and be aware of it when applying and what you’re trying to project.

Acqua Di Gio = Buy

D&G Light Blue bottle is very similar to that of D&G Pour Homme but with frosted glass. The other difference is of course a light blue cap versus a deep blue found in Pour Homme. There are several bottle sizes as with many D&G men’s colognes and range in price from $40-$80. This is a best seller for D&G and goes up against Bvlgari Aqva and Acqua Di Gio.

D&G Light Blue Cologne Smell

This opens with a very fresh and light top with a hint of lemon. It has a nice fresh crisp top that is very clean. This is almost a lighter version of Polo Blue with a slightly sweeter hint to it. During the drydown there is a slight pepper note, but it is hard to notice. The base of this has some woody notes but again hard to notice due to projection issues. Light Blue is very generic and there isn’t much to set this one apart from others.

D&G Light Blue Cologne Usage

This is a very safe scent that lacks in the projection department. If you’re looking for something soft and subtle then D&G Light Blue is something to consider. The sweeter note makes this better for the younger crowd compared to the middle age. Because Light Blue sticks mostly to the skin you can wear this to any occasion at any time during the summer season.

D&G Light Blue = Pass

I think there are a lot better light aquatic type fragrances out there then Light Blue. Projection and longevity issues are going to be found throughout the category but were especially bad with Light Blue. If you’d like something with a slight salt note consider Bvlgari Aqua. Or if you want a fresh fragrance with better longevity and projection check out Acqua Di Gio.
